Origin: Born on Talus in the Corellian system. Son a Corellian father and a Mistryl shadow guard. His mother died shortly after his birth and he was raised by his amoral and xenophobic father. Given an appointment to the Republic Military Academy. Graduated with high honors, keeping what he learned from his father in secret. Welcomed the coming of Palpatine's New Order. First mission for the Empire was to secured the Golgan III shipyards. Demonstrated an ability to play the weaknesses of his target like an instrument. Second assignment was to sabotage a shipment of bacta meant for a Rebel cell. This caused the death of a large number of the Diad cell on Marakas IV. Among the dead were Mya Pellman and her unborn son. Variner continued to excel within the ranks, as a result of his tactical skill and complete lack of morals. Promoted to Admiral shortly before Hoth. Was given the command of the Imperial Fourth Fleet which he still holds. Went into hiding after Endor to build up his fleet. Came out of the woodwork with the formation of the Aurora Force, and remains their primary foe. He is allied to the mysterious Dark Jedi, Ispa.

The remainder of his fleet consists of 12 Victory Star Destroyers, 50 Corellian Corvettes, 30 Corellian Gunships, 20 Nebulon-B Frigates, 40 Lancer Frigates, 30 Carrack Crusiers, 10 INTs and 30 Dreadnaughts. He has access to every form of fighter that the Empire has produced, but prefers TIE Interceptors and missile boats, along with a few production models of several top-secret prototypes that briefly emerged after the Battle of Hoth. He has several manufacturing bases scattered throughout his territory. It is recommended that they be found and destroyed.
