    Born and bred of Xenen, Winston Kiel studied politics on Coruscant before being funneled back to his homeworld as an administrator. His father had been a member of the Imperial Senate some years before and Winston obviously inherited his knack for politics, as tricky as they may be. He married a girl on Coruscant, Verity Dryndil, and when they returned to Xenen, they had a son, Leland.
    Winston became governor of Xenen after his uncle, Jasper, died. He is undyingly loyal to his superiors on Kartuiin and hopes to strike a match between his son, Leland, age twenty, and Tegan Dargan, the new governor of the Kartuiin Sector. However, he is not alone in trying to win more power through one's children-several other governors are playing the same game.
    His true loves in life are knowledge and power, partially due to his upbringing on the famed library world of Xenen. His wife, however, is a sweet and simple woman who cares not for power or knowledge, but is content to live out her years on Xenen in peace-her only want for existence.
    Kiel was ousted as governor of Xenen in recent elections.
