Quick announcement:  I've started to put together my family history.  If you are seeking information or have information on the following surnames, feel free to contact me (although I cannot promise I'll be much help): Auer, Burggraf, Campanella, Connell (O'Connell), Henebry, Klitzke, Koerpelson (Koerpel), LaMantia, Paugh.

My family also has connections to Ruby, Ree (Rey), Shive, Splinter, Hickey, Dalton, and Swinson (Svenson -- something like that) -- these are either married in at one or two generations within my own or I have not done research on them yet (as in the case of Swinson and Ree).

people can e-mail me at klitzkee@student.gvsu.edu.

On to me....

Those people who know me well may find this to be a little bit of a bore.  I apologize

I was born in Schaumburg, Illinois, in 1982. I'm the oldest child in my family. My siblings, William Robert (Bill), Kendall Elizabeth, and Kent Maxwell (Max) were born in 1984, 1991, and 1994 respectively. Bill was also born while my family was living in Schaumburg. Kendall and Max were born after we moved to Troy, Michigan, where my family still lives.

I attended schools in Troy. I was a Blue Jay at Norman R. Barnard Elementary School where I was a member of the service squad and the Girl Scouts of America troop 1992, a Bobcat at Stuart K. Baker Middle School where I was a cheerleader, swim team, and track team member, and a Redhawk at Troy Athens High School, where I was a member of the National Honor Society, co-captain of the debate team, and president of the now-defunct creative writing club, Silver Ink. After my graduation magna cum laude from Athens, I headed on to Allendale, Michigan to attend Grand Valley State University. It is my ambition to be a writer of science fiction and fantasy, hence my major in history.  I also want to be Indiana Jones, hence my major in anthropology.  Put them together, and I could do a multitude of things, including museum studies, which is a field that is really beginning to intrigue me.  Then again, so is journalism.  I hope to have two bachelor's degrees by 2006 -- although as time goes by, it begins to look more and more like I may be able to walk in April of 2005.

My passions include history, writing, playing soccer, the Internet, and RPGs. I've been writing since I was about eight or ten years old; my first works were extremely strange and obvious knock-offs of Star Trek, Star Wars, SeaQuest, and later Babylon 5. I've managed to get away from that sort of thing more recently, and now I'm working on some fantasy and science fiction projects with gusto (when I don't have writer's block, that is). My creative energies are also likewise strained by my work on various web sites, including this one and the site for the Grand Valley Renaissance Festival, as well as one dedicated to gaming.  I am, in fact, so dedicated to RPGs and gaming that I was made president of Alternative Realities, GVSU's gaming guild then, GVSU's gaming, science fiction, and fantasy club now. I also participate in several campaigns with friends on campus, including my own.  If you want more information on some of those games, visit RPG_Center.tripod.com.

I've managed to keep my grade point average at Grand Valley hovering between a 3.0 and a 3.5 (B to A- range -- I have a frickin' 4.0 in my required studies section, which consists solely of one class because I've been exempted from two others). I like the atmosphere at the university; it's smaller than a lot of other schools but doesn't sacrifice education or the feel of getting away from home. Never believe the rumors about there being nothing to do at Grand Valley--it's all a matter of getting involved. I, for one, am almost never in my dorm room in the evenings until after nine o'clock at night, and that's not because I have late classes, either. There's a club for almost everyone at Grand Valley, and if you can't find one for you, you can always start your own with few problems.Sorry, it was with a webcam.....me in my new garb.

For the summer of 2001, I went home to live with my parents in Troy.  I spent the summer working at Baskin Robbins and the Boys and Girls Club of Troy, where I did field trips and worked in the LRC (Learning Resource Center) for the Summer Camp 2001 program.  I worked with children 6-17 and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Shout out to Katie, Victoria, John, Michelle, Megan, Elise, Katharine, Anthony, Evan, the twins, Nick, Josh, Calla, Daniel and all the rest.

I spent the summer of 2002 working on the Millennium Park Project, doing an archaeological survey at Johnson Park and Norton Mounds and the surrounding areas.  I also landed a job at the Grand Valley Lanthorn as the Arts and Entertainment editor -- and I love my work.  During 2002 Winter semester I made the Dean's List, which was a thrill for me.  I managed to do it again in the fall.

I've survived Winter 2003, and made the Dean's List for my troubles.  That was unexpected!  GPA is almost where I want it (just a few more hundredths of a point!) so I can get into graduate school.  I've pretty much got my heart set on University of Chicago -- hopefully I'll get in and they'll give me money!

Looking forward to finishing off my anthro degree next year, and then history the year after that.  Undergraduate is almost over!

I'm a big fan of the Red Wings -- the Detroit Red Wings, for all the neophytes that don't know anything about hockey.  They'll be back next year!  I know it!

So sad that Funny Cide lost the Belmont Stakes.....almost had it, but when a horse is that jumpy, you just can't hold him in or else someone's going to get hurt.  At least we'll be seeing that gelding racing for a long time!  Watching horse racing makes me want to visit Arlington again.....

So summer's done and stuff.  For the day-to-day update on my life, try checking out my livejournal.  I update it when I can.

Want to know more stuff about me? Let me know what and I'll think about adding it to this page.
