    Marie Dargan was born to minor nobles in the Royal House of Alderaan. Her father was an outspoken critic of Bail Organa and her mother was a former code slicer from Coruscant. They raised Marie, her older brother Vertil, and her younger sister Taymie and brother Izra on Alderaan and won both of their older children appointments to the Imperial Military Academy at Cardia. While at Cardia studying to be a combat medtech, Marie met and befriended the man who would later become her husband, Torvin Taylor, who was a naval and command track officer. She graduated in the top twenty-five percent of her class and thus was not assigned to some broken down planetary defense force but a Dreadnaught called the Hammer Blow. She rose through the ranks until she was head of the ship's medical corps. She and Torvin had become engaged several months before and they married. Nine months later, their only child, a daughter, was born. Eighteen years later, while her daughter was at Prefsbelt IV training as an Imperial officer and her immediate family off-world, Alderaan was destroyed. Marie, like the rest of her family, blamed the Rebel Alliance.
    Upon her assignment to the Imperial-II class Star Destroyer Iceheart several years later, which was attached to a fleet commanded by her older brother, now an Admiral, Vertil Dargan, Marie seemed to thrive. She enjoyed a close relationship with her sister-in-law Serah and niece Tegan; devastated by Serah's murder four years after Tegan's birth.
    As her husband became more bitter and withdrawn after the death of Emperor Palpatine, Marie remained at his side, always wondering why her husband had changed so suddenly, but never asking. A medical corpsman knows better than to ask their commander how they're feeling.
    Marie has since learned of her daughter's marriage to a New Republic officer and that her daughter has given birth to twins by the officer.  While Marie knows that her husband believes that Kingston was brainwashed, Marie cannot find it in her heart to agree with him -- she knows her daughter too well to believe that she is not fighting for something she believes in.
